Dan Rogers, Ph.D. (Ft. Dodge, IA psychologist OR ex-psychologist) represents himself as a professional
and is a newsgroup leader. Yet, among the entire bunch of punks, he has told the most egregious lies
and he has told the same ones OVER AND OVER in the sci.psychology
newsgroups. Moreover, in
3 Formal Complaints to his Iowa Professional Licensing Board, I complained about this very matter and legal
action has been threatened repeatedly. This is just a very partial outline overview summary of why I am
seeking legal action against him for defamation/libel/slander and harassment:
* he's supposedly a professional (and represents himself that way in these
newsgroups)
* tells the most egregious and defamatory lies and does so knowingly and
maliciously
* he does this over and over and over
* he is aware of hurt his lies are causing and of the many actions to try to get him to stop
* Rogers does all the above in a stalking and harassing manner to punish and often to suppress appropriate
on-topic postings (APPARENTLY, the ONLY real motivation for his
abusive malice)
* he has been told repeatedly that each of his assertions are groundless and false and he KNOWS it
* he has no evidence to support his assertions and thus his allegations are in
NO way reasonable
* he has been warned repeatedly
* his lies are of the nature to be damaging to me professionally, including false claims of me stalking
("parking down the street from his house"); false claims of plagiarism and of expressing old and
unsupported views; false charges of other unethical and illegal actions, supposedly involving contact
from officials -- which never occurred; & FALSE charges of me
"associating with child pornographers".
ALL THIS COMPLETELY FALSE AND HE KNOWS IT AND THESE FALSE
NEWSGROUP
ALLEGATIONS ARE EXTREMELY DEFAMATORY OF A COMMUNITY COLLEGE INSTRUCTOR
AND TEACHER. And, I did not yet even mention his charge that I was "kicked out of grad. school" --
another of his charges, like all the rest, which is totally
baseless, unreasonable, and completely false.
* he has done all this over and over, approx. every 6 months since 1999 -- telling many of these
same lies at a time in each instance.
It is damaging to my reputation as an academic and as a community college instructor (and as
a teacher generally -- I have also been a licensed secondary science teacher) to have allegations
of getting "kicked out of graduate school". Makes me sound like not a quality candidate at the
masters level (I have a masters degree and was in NO way ever "kicked
out" of a graduate program) .
For anyone who believes the baseless malicious lies of Dan Rogers:
It seems like I have no respect for the regulations of the psychology field when it is indicated that
I have been admonished and reprimanded by the APA and the MN Psychology Board. (Both
accusations are completely false.) Anyhow, Rogers FALSELY tries to give the clear impression I am not in
good standing with relevant professional organizations related to the area (of psychology) that I teach.
The accusations that I have engaged in stalking and harassing behaviors (all false and baseless) are
damaging to the reputation of anyone, but especially a person at a professional level. (It would maybe not
hurt a minimum wage worker.)
The accusations of plagiarism directly impugn my work in the field DIRECTLY related to being
a psychology instructor (WHICH I WAS , when all this began). Dan Rogers also otherwise knowingly
falsely characterizes the work as both unsupported and of no value. (AND:
Recently Rogers has repeatedly
falsely and ON NO BASIS whatsoever said my programs, which I have written as a Java/JavaScript
programmer, are "filled with viruses and malware" -- all completely false and intentionally malicious
allegations, affecting peoples' willingness to use my free software and obviously damaging to my
reputation
in a new professional area in which I work.)
There is a lot more I could say.
Here is another way I have addressed the situation (this is a bit redundant, but adds some things):
There are dozens of instances (each) of these false statements, spanning a half dozen years.
All this even though I filed 3 Formal complaints about these very matters with Dan Rogers' Iowa
Licensing Board (which took no meaningful action, perhaps because he is a past member). Also a
Formal Complaint was filed with the American Psychological Association, which also took no action.
Dan Rogers presumably (almost certainly) saw all these complaints made over the years -- the first in
1998.
(1) I am an academic who has worked as a community college psychology and technology
instructor. Rogers repeatedly indicates I am a plagiarist (falsely and there is no evidence)
and that I was "kicked out of graduate school" and thus was not in good standing (false).
He accuses me repeatedly of of stalking (ON NO BASIS and falsely), including "parking down the
street from his house on several occasions" It is defamatory to anyone to accuse them
of a such behavior.
Rogers also accuses me of abusing people in support groups, email abuse, and affiliations with
pornographers and a child molester (ALL FALSE) -- defamatory to anyone, but esp. to a teacher.
Rogers indicates I am in bad standing with professional organizations, including the APA and the
MN Psychology Board. (These are all baseless and false allegations). This is defamatory on the
very surface of it to a person with any psychology profession (I work, when I can, as a psychology
instructor).
(2) There is absolutely no basis in fact to these charges and other horrific charges.
(3) I have had some difficulty getting some work, quite possibly because of
these false allegations.
SOME of THE FACTS:
I left graduate school (U of Iowa) with a M.A. in psychology -- deciding ON MY OWN to stop at
that point (I was not kicked out in any sense).
I never had any contact with or from the MN Licensing Board -- Rogers does a
total fabrication on this.
I associate with NO law-breakers whatsoever and I (myself) have broken NO laws
and have never been
investigated for, or charged with, anything.
One bogus ethical complaint was made against me with the APA. I was totally
cleared by the APA, of
these ethical charges made against me. The one complaint against me was
seen as bogus and without merit.
THUS, my ethical
standing has not even been legitimately called into question. Yet, Rogers
lies intentionally and with
malicious intent to do harm to me, in a way that any rational person can only
see as grossly unethical,
depraved, and illegal. Not a scrap of evidence could be produced for ANY
of Dan Rogers charges (lies)
and his accusations are unreasonable by any standard. His behavior is in
violation of several laws.
I could address all of the other false charges equally well.
